Who are we?

A non profit association founded in Geneva in 1956 by radio amateurs and professionals in electronics in the aim of developing TV transmission and reception techniques by experimentation as well as in the aim of keeping the memory of technical aspects of TV history alive in the view of the past, present and future.

Activities

Experimentation in keeping TV receivers of the early 50ies alive
Internal antenna feed in B1 (channels 2-4) and B3 (channels 5-12)
Resources: schematics, stock of spare parts, valves and resistors.,

Memory work
Library of original books and reviews of the commencement of TV, in Switzerland, Geneva, Europe and the USA
Side project: establishment of an internet platform and suggested links dedicated to TV history

Experimentation of a ATV Station HB9 TM
1'250 - 1'280 Ghz transmitter. Sat tuner, monitors, cameras, text and screen calibration generator, various rotative, RX and dish antennas.
Side project: remote control of a ATV transceiver in the mountains

Side exploitation of an amateur radio station
Using devices such as RX/TX Sommerkamp Equipment FT 307 / 277 all modes + FFO and MFJ-968, CNW-419 + ground match MFJ-934 antenna tuners

Side exploitation of DX et RTTY reception
Various standard SW consumer receivers, signal converter, scope and needle printer.

Pedagogical ressources
Upon request and within its means, the association may assist schools and students in organising presentations and conferences regarding the history of Televison.

Work meetings, situation of the premises, access, contact, member fee, how to join?
The Groupement meets every Tuesday evening fro m 7.30 to 10 pm during the Geneva School year in a building situated in the area of Montbrillant - 5 minutes walk from Geneva main station.
